A motorsports partnership Total is the sports partner of Citroën in all the events in which the French manufacturer is involved. In 2005, the TOTAL-CITROEN WRC team took away 2 World Champions titles : drivers (Sebastien Loeb / Daniel Elena) and car-makers. That is 5 World Champions titles between 2003 and 2005 for Citroën-Total ! In 2006, Citroën officially withdrew from the World championship WRC but supports the XSARA, among which the one still piloted by Loeb and Elena, who compete for the championship under the Belgian stable Kronos Total Citroën. 2006 will also be the occasion for Citroën to prepare the C4 WRC which will officially show up in the 2007 WRC World championship. Total supplies competition lubricants, specific products developed for the WRC by the Total Research center of Solaize, near Lyon. The sports commitments represent for Total tremendous test benches for its products which are facing the most extreme conditions of use. |
